Bhubaneswar: BJD MP from Balasore Rabindra Jena was interrogated by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for around three hours here on Monday evening over his alleged complicity with Seashore Group.

After coming out of the CBI office, Jena admitted before the media that he had some business links with the chit-fund company.

"I had some business links with Seashore Group. The company had to pay me some amount. I have furnished all information to CBI", Jena told newsmen after interrogation.

The lok sabha MP arrived at the office of the central investigating agency here at round 8 pm and till the filing of this report interrogation to the parliamentarian was going on. Reliable sources said the central probe agency is questioning him over his alleged links with Seashore Group.

Sources said this is another major blow to BJD since the arrest of the party MLA Pravat Tripathy and MP Ramachandra Hansda last year.

Earlier in the day, Special CBI Court allowed continuation of bail for former Advocate-General (AG) Ashok Mohanty who has been named as an accused in the CBI’s charge sheet regarding the multi-crore chit fund scam.

After being summoned, Mohanty today appeared before the court and appealed for extension of his bail.
Notably, Mohanty was granted a conditional bail on September 26 last year by a local court after being arrested for his alleged links with Artha Tatwa (AT) chit fund company chief Pradip Sethi.

Similary, 18 accused, including Banki MLA Pravat Tripathy, DSP Pramod Panda and model Preeti Bhatia, were produced before the CBI court.
