Chaos inside Odisha BDO office as ruling and Opposition workers come to blows

Tension prevailed high at the Daspalla Block Office in Nayagarh district after a scuffle broke out between members of the ruling and opposition groups inside the premises on Monday. The incident occurred while a meeting was underway in the office of the Block Development Officer (BDO).

Scuffle Over Pending Development Bills

According to sources, the Daspalla MLA, the Block Chairman, and several other public representatives were present in the BDO’s chamber to discuss the clearance of pending development bills. The meeting was reportedly focused on expediting approvals for projects that had been awaiting sanction for a considerable period.

However, the situation took a dramatic turn when some workers allegedly affiliated with the ruling party suddenly entered the office premises. Their entry led to heated arguments between the two sides. Eyewitnesses claimed that the verbal confrontation quickly escalated into pushing and shoving, creating chaos inside the government office.

Police Intervention

Officials and staff present at the spot were left shocked as the confrontation disrupted normal administrative functioning.

Upon receiving information, personnel from Daspalla Police Station rushed to the scene and intervened to restore order. The police managed to disperse the groups and bring the situation under control. Despite the intervention, tension continues to linger in the area, with both sides blaming each other for triggering the altercation. Further inquiry into the incident is expected.
