Bhubaneswar: An eight-member central team will arrive in Bhubaneswar tomorrow to assess the damages caused by cyclone Titli and subsequent floods in the state.

Joint Relief Commissioner of Odisha, Pravat Ranjan Mohapatra informed today that the team led by Joint secretary of Union Home ministry SK Sahi is scheduled to arrive in the state capital on Thursday.

According to reports, the team will be divided into two groups which will separately visit Ganjam and Gajapati districts to make the damage assessment.

“A team is coming to Odisha tomorrow to make an on the spot verification and make assessment of the damages caused by cyclone Titli,” Mohapatra said.

After the team returns to Bhubaneswar, a meeting is scheduled to be held at the state secretariat on November 2 informed sources adding that a detailed report will be submitted by the team later.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today announced a special package for Cyclone Titli and subsequent flood-affected districts.

Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi informed that Rs 13,500 per hectare will be provided for irrigated land whereas Rs 6,800 will be provided for non-irrigated areas in the affected districts.

Earlier the Odisha government had announced a relief package of Rs 375 crore.
