Cuttack: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday inaugurated the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and System (CCTNS) at the valedictory function of senior police officers' conference in Cuttack.

The much-awaited Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and System project will create an integrated database to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of policing and sharing data among police stations in Odisha. The project will be started in all 33 police stations of Angul and Kendrapara districts on a pilot basis.

During the two-day conference which ended today, 110 senior police officers of the state including superintendents of police, commandants of all armed police battalions, Inspector-Generals, Deputy Inspector-Generals and IPS officers participated in the meeting.

Earlier on Friday, while inaugurating the 56th senior police officers' conference at police headquarters here, DGP Prakash Mishra assured active role of Odisha police in handling the women cases, strong measures to curb growing financial crimes and naxal activities in the state.
