Bhubaneswar: The results of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class XII examinations were announced on Saturday. This year, the pass percentage has improved to 83.01 per cent from 82.02 per cent of last year. Thiruvananthapuram Region recorded highest pass percentage of 97.32%, Chennai stood second with 93.87%, followed by Delhi at 89%.

"Results of Class 12 CBSE Exams declared. Can be accessed now through following modes: (On account of too many people accessing these sites initially, some of these sites may take time to respond. Kindly be patient)," tweeted HRD Secretary, Anil Swarup.

Meghna Srivastava topped the CBSE Class 12 examination getting 99.8%. She secured 499 marks out of 500. She is a student of Step By Step School, Noida, and is from the Humanities stream.

The second position was bagged by another girl, Anoushka Chand, also a humanities stream student from a school in Ghaziabad. She got 498 marks out of 500.

The third position was held by seven students who got 497 marks out of 500, the officials said.

Official sources said as many as 11,86, 306 students took the board exams at 4,138 centres in India and 71 centres. The exams were held between March 5 and April 13.

However, the economics test was rescheduled on April 25 after it was cancelled due to reports of question paper leak.

Though there was also a report of the CBSE Std. 10 maths papers being leaked, the board officials refused for re-scheduling of the exam.

Last year, CBSE class 12 results were announced at the end of May and the results of Std.10 were announced in the first week of June.
