CBI investigation sought into death of two girl students in Balasore

Balasore: More than 3 weeks after the mysterious death of two school girls at Tentei village under Soro block of Balasore, locals staged protests today demanding a CBI investigation into the matter.

The protesters staged demonstration at Ainri square, blocking the Anantpur-Soro road following which traffic movement was disrupted.

"Some people have demanded CBI investigation into the case but this is a clear case of suicide which is evident from the post-mortem report," Sub-Divisional Police Officer of Balasore, Prabhas Chandra Pal said.

The deceased identified as Priyanka Das and Laxmipriya Das of Biripada village were students of Bhikaricharan High School of the district.

According to reports, Priyanka had come to her friend Laxmipriya’s house for studying on the night of August 10 as they had to appear for an examination the next day.  However, the family members found the girls dead later on.
