Puri: More skeletons continue to tumble out of the Seashore cupboard with each passing day. On Monday, the Economic Offence Wing of the Odisha Crime Branch raided a 22-acre farmhouse owned by the Seashore Group at Barala village near Satyabadi in Puri district and after completing the legal formalities, the farmhouse was sealed.

As depositors continue to ventilate their ire and lodge complaints with the Crime Branch against the Seashore group for committing alleged financial frauds, the probe agency has intensified its search to locate Seashore properties in Odisha and elsewhere.

After verifying the ownership, the Crime Branch is sealing the properties so that it can be later sold or auctioned and the proceeds can be refunded to the depositors.

The sprawling 22-acre farmhouse which the CB sealed on Monday has 500 coconut trees and 10 ponds, sources said. The farmhouse was sealed in the presence of the local Tahsildar. More raids on Seashore properties are likely to take place in the coming days, CB sources said.

The investigating agency, which continues its seizure exercise, had earlier sealed company’s corporate office in Bhubaneswar. A number of branch offices across the State have also been sealed recently.
