Cattle mafia Sujit Mohanty’s Balasore link under scanner

Fresh details have emerged about the alleged activities of cattle mafia Sujit Mohanty, a resident of the Jharpokharia area in Mayurbhanj district, indicating his links and properties in Balasore district.

According to sources, Sujit is suspected of owning assets in the Balasore region, which have now come under the radar of the police. As part of the ongoing crackdown, Keonjhar police reportedly conducted raids in the Padhuapada area of the town in connection with the case.

The day before, the Keonjhar police had carried out an extensive search operation at the residence of Sujit's relative and brother, Tapan Mohanty. After conducting a thorough search, the police team returned later in the day. The action is part of a wider investigation currently underway against Sujit, focusing on his alleged illegal financial dealings.

During the raid, police examined a three-storey building owned by the relative and also verified details related to a high-end BMW car found at the premises. Officials are probing the source of funds used to acquire these assets, suspecting that they may be linked to proceeds from illegal activities.

The police officials have indicated that further raids and inquiries may follow as more information comes to light.
