It is pertinent to mention that on July 10, some miscreants allegedly looted valuables worth Rs 3 lakhs by breaking the window of an Engineer’s car parked near the Regional Passport Office in Bhubaneswar. The Engineer was reportedly inside the Passport Office along with his wife and son while his brother stayed back in their car (bearing registration number- OD 05H 3175). Moments later when he went to some distance after parking and locking the car near the Passport Office, the robbers who supposedly were aware of the valuables kept inside the car, looted gold jewellery, a mobile phone and an ATM card by breaking the car window. Subsequently, an FIR was lodged at Nayapalli police station.
In connection with another loot incident near Palaspalli, police have arrested two persons from Kargil slum area. Following a chase, the accused had reportedly looted valuables from a woman who was driving a scooty with a relative pillion riding it.
