Rourkela: Hours after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched ‘Mo Sarkar’ initiative at various police stations and hospitals which aims at making the governance system people-centric in the State, allegation of misbehaviour by hospital staff has been brought by a cancer-stricken patient at Ispat General Hospital (IGH) in Rourkela.

As per reports, a woman of Chhend Colony in Rourkela suffering from cancer was undertaking treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack. However, on the advice of doctors at SCB, she recently went back to Rourkela IGH for some medical examination including CT Scan.

During her visit, the woman however alleged that she was misbehaved by some doctors and other staff of Rourkela IGH.

Based on the complaint of the woman and order from Sundergarh district Collector Nikhil Pavan Kalyan, Panposh Sub-Collector Biswajit Mohapatra and Director of Rourkela Government Hospital Dinabandhu Panda held discussions with the IGH Director yesterday.

The team also recorded the statements of the cancer-hit woman, a nurse and other employees of the hospital in connection with the incident. The authorities of Rourkela IGH could not be contacted over the incident.
