Bhubaneswar: The Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs on Thursday approved the construction of a 3rd railway line between Narayangarh in West Bengal and Bhadrak in Odisha of 155 kms length.

The capacity utilisation on Narayangarh and Bhadrak section is138%. The third line will help reduce this congestion in the route.

The new line will also help generate additional optimum capacity to cope up with the existing as well as additional traffic, said a PIB release.

The total estimated cost of this project is Rs 1,866.31 crore and expected to be completed by 2023-24.

Moreover, this project is likely to generate 'direct employment for about 37.2 lakh mandays', the release read.
