Bhubaneswar: After facing direct attacks over the violence in Delhi which has taken lives of around 40 persons so far, Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah launched a counter attack and accused opposition parties of instigating and misleading people on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).

While addressing a massive Jan Samavesh organised by the BJP in Bhubaneswar, Amit Shah said that a lot of issues which were attached with the sentiments of people and pending since last 70 years were taken up after Narendra Modi became Prime Minister.

“It is due to abrogation of article 370 in August 5, 2019, Kashmir is now an integral part of India. Whenever the issue of Ram Mandir came up, Congress kept dillydallying. But PM Modi recently constituted a Trust which has opened doors for the construction of Ram Mandir at the birthplace of Lord Ram,” said Shah.

Shah further stated that all the opposition parties, Congress, BSP, SP, Trinamool Congress are opposing the CAA only for political gains and their claim that the rights of Muslims in the country will be affected by the CAA is false and baseless.

'CAA is not about taking away citizenship, but about granting citizenship,' Shah said while addressing the massive gathering.
