Paradip: Police on Saturday began investigation into the incident in which a Class VII student of Zillanasi village  was allegedly buried alive till his neck on Wednesday. The boy was however let off by the accused after he paid Rs 500.

As per reports, the minor boy was allegedly buried alive up to neck in the river bed by another student of the same school on Wednesday. The boy had then alleged, “The student (accused) along with two others dug a hole, gagged and buried me alive in the river bed. When I requested them to release me, they demanded money. After I paid Rs 500, they left me without causing any harm.”

However, the accused student rubbished the charges and said, “I accept that I beat him up... Neither did I bury him nor did I take money from him. He has levelled false charges against me.”

Meanwhile, police visited the spot as well as village of the complainant and questioned the minor boy and his family members yesterday.

"A team visited the spot on Saturday; no trace of burial was found in the river bed. Further probe is underway," said Kujang IIC Dilip Sahu.
