Builder shot dead in city
Bhubaneswar: A city based builder was shot dead by miscreants at IRC village area here at around 11 am on Monday. The victim who sustained grievous bullet injuries was admitted to hospital where doctors declared him dead, police said.
Krushna Chandra Nayak, the owner of Kalinga putra real estate & developers, was coming to his office at around 11 am while two unidentified miscreants wearing helmet on bike intercepted him on the road before firing at him indiscriminately. Nayak was rushed to a private hospital in a critical condition. However, he succumbed to the injuries during treatment, they added.
A forensic team and police visited the hospital and crime spot. Previous enmity is suspected to be the reason of the crime while police are also investigating from other angles like land dispute, sources said. However, family members of the deceased alleged that the contract killers committed the crime. They have given the names of some suspected persons to police.
Some miscreants had attacked Krushnachandra earlier on July 27 near his house but he managed to escape luckily. A complaint was registered in Nayapali police station in this regard.
