Cuttack: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, today announced fresh schedule for the Matriculation regular examination which was cancelled on March 21 following thefts of question papers of seven subjects from Bhagawati Vidyapeeth at Bajpur under Kakatpur block in Puri district. The Board authorities said that the examination would be held between April 17 to April 26. The candidates would appear examinations in all subjects except Modern Indian language paper.

Question papers of seven subjects were stolen from the Bhagwati Vidyapeeth on March 20. The BSE authorities had to even cancel the English examination which was held on March 21. Four persons including the Centre Superintendent of Bhagwati Vidyapeeth were put under suspension in the incident. The BSE authorities had said that the examinations had to be deferred for at least 20 days to prepare fresh question papers and decide the schedule.
The matter was raised even in the assembly today during the Zero Hour. Members cutting across party lines expressed concern over the issue.
