Bhubaneswar: The newly elected Aska MP Pramila Bisoyi on Saturday requested Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to expedite the search for Odia pilot Sunit Mohanty who was on board Indian Air Force (IAF) transport aircraft AN 32 which went missing along with 12 other personnel.

Flight Lieutenant Sunit Mohanty, who hails from Baliapalli of Kabisuryanagar of Ganjam district, had boarded the aircraft, which took off from Jorhat in Assam and later went missing on June 3.

“His parents are quite disturbed and with folded hands appraised the situation. It was very painful to see their plight and hence requesting you to expedite the search operation of the missing IAF AN 32 flight and bring back Mohanty along with other members who were on board the plane,” wrote Bisoyi in a letter to Singh.

On the other hand, Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa yesterday reviewed the overall search operation at a high-level meeting in Jorhat air base.
