Bhubaneswar: The Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) has been facing staff crunch for quite some time now and this inadequacy of staff has forced students to face several problems like delay in publication of results.

The BPUT had conducted the seventh semester exam in December last year and announced that the result of the same would be declared within 90 days. However, the result is yet to announced and when asked, the varsity clarified that staff shortage has led to the inordinate delay.

"Almost 75 per cent papers' evaluation has already been done. The entire process will be completed within next 15 days following which we will declare the results. As most of the faculty retired in the recent times, we faced problem in getting cometent people for evaluation of papers," said BPUT Registrar Himanshu Sekhar Behera.

Behera further informed that the date of the next semester exam, which has been scheduled for third week of March, might be changed due to the upcoming elections. "The election dates are yet to come... But once we get the dates, we will postpone our exams accordingly," he added.
