Panic gripped the Gadakana area on Friday morning after unidentified bike-borne miscreants hurled crude bombs near Kendriya Vidyalaya-3 around 8 AM. The incident occurred near Gate No. 3 of the school, but no injuries were reported, and no major damage was reported.
According to police sources, bike-borne miscreants hurled two bombs at Gate No. 3 of the school. The explosion caused smoke and damaged a portion of the gate and the boundary wall. Police suspect the attack was pre-planned.
The timing has raised serious concerns, as around 1000–1500 students usually enter through Gate No. 3 between 7:30 AM and 7:45 AM. Fortunately, the spot was empty at the time of the explosion.
“I dropped my child off at school at around 7:30 AM. We were still standing nearby when we heard a loud sound and saw smoke. The gate was damaged. If this had happened a few minutes earlier, many children could have been seriously injured,” said one parent.
Echoing the fear, another parent said, “About 15–20 minutes after dropping our child, we heard a loud explosion. The wall was also damaged. This has created panic among locals and parents.”

On being informed, Mancheswar Police and the Railway Police Force (RPF) reached the spot and cordoned off the area. A scientific team is expected to arrive for forensic examination. Police are currently examining CCTV footage to identify the assailants and determine the motive behind the attack. The school authorities have not issued any official statement so far.
