Bollywood Singer Arijit Singh visits historic Gadamadhupur Rajbati in Jajpur

Renowned Bollywood playback singer Arijit Singh visited the historic Gadamadhupur Rajbati in Jajpur district, drawing attention to the region’s rich royal heritage. Inspired after coming across visuals of the ancient royal palace and structures from the era of kings and zamindars on social media, the singer had reportedly decided to explore the site in person.

Arijit Singh arrived at the Rajbati along with a few family members and music associates. He closely observed the architectural style, artistic details and the historic significance of the centuries-old palace. The visit offered him a glimpse into the mystery and legacy associated with the royal estate.

Queen Aparna Dhir Narendra Singh, along with her husband and two daughters, accompanied Arijit Singh during the visit. The singer was visibly impressed and mesmerised by the intricate artwork and unique construction style of the Rajbati.

Visit to Ancient Jagannath Temple

Following the palace visit, Arijit Singh travelled on a scooter to the Gadamadhupur Jagannath Temple, which shares architectural and spiritual similarities with the Jagannath Temple in Puri. He offered prayers and spent time at the temple, appreciating its historic and cultural importance.

“While searching for ancient temples on social media, he came across the ancient Gadamadhupur Jagannath Temple and the Gopaljew Temple, and the idols kept inside the Gopaljew Temple sparked his interest, and he came here to see them. He was also keen to explore the antique palace and visited the site along with his family,” said Aparna Dhir Narendra Singh.

“We came to know from the children that Arijit Singh had arrived here. After his arrival, there was a huge rush, and people were very excited, and they attended his concert. Since ticket prices usually range between Rs 800 and Rs 900, we got to see him here free of cost in our village. We even managed to click selfies with him,” said Sukanta Behera, a fan.
