Bolangir District Central Cooperative Bank Manager In Vigilance Net

Bolangir: A team of Vigilance sleuths on Thursday raided the houses and office of the Manager of Bolangir District Central Cooperative (BDCC) Bank, Ashok Kumar Mohapatra on charges of accumulating properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.

Acting on a search warrant issued by the Court of Special Judge Vigilance and on the directions of Sambalpur SP (Vigilance), a team of anti-graft officials from six districts conducted simultaneous searches at four places including Mohapatra’s office, his new residence at Dasmati Nagar, parental house at Malpada in Bolangir district.

The officials also conducted the raids on Mohapatra’s son-in-law’s house at Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district, said reports.

“We are conducting searches at four places and the details of the assets unearthed will be known after the raids are completely over,” said Bolangir Vigilance DSP Dilip Kumar Kar.

While refuting the charges, Mohapatra said, “I have been working in the bank since the last 37 years and this is the only house I have built in my entire career. I had taken loan of Rs 50 lakh from State Bank of India and Rs 3.5 lakh from Andhra Bank to build the house.”
