“Joint inspections are on at petrol stations and gas agencies. We don’t know about the allegations that have been brought against these stations and agencies, but as per the orders of the Vigilance DIG we have provided inspectors. The results will be analyzed after the operation is complete. Periodical enforcement is being done by our officials at a district level. Cases have been lodged based on various sections of the Legal Metrology Act. In many cases, petrol stations are found supplying fuel without required verification and there are also instances of short delivery, and discrepancies in measurement. In case of gas agencies we check the weights being delivered and the quality of fuel being sold,” said Director of Food Supply and Consumer Welfare department, Anant Kumar Bhuyan.

Earlier on Saturday, similar raids were conducted across the State.
