Tribal found murdered in Malkangiri

Malkangiri: Police is investigating into the death of a tribal whose body was found with his throat slit open outside his house at Katapali village under Mathili police limits in Malkangiri district this morning.

Reports quoting family sources said the deceased, identified as Budura Khalamali, was sleeping on the varandah outside his house last night. However, the family members found him lying in a pool of blood with his throat slit open this morning.

Though police suspects that the Maoists might have killed the tribal suspecting him as a police informer, there was no poster or leaflet found near the body which the Red Rebels usually do.

Talking to media persons today, Malkangiri SP Mitrabhanu Mohapatra said  a police team has rushed to the village for an on-the-spot investigation to find out whether the Maoists are involved in the killing of the tribal.
