Tailwaggers- a one-stop solution for pet dog owners

Bhubaneswar: Do you worry about your canine while planning for a vacation or an official tour? Put your worries aside and just drop your canine at Tailwaggers-the one-stop dog care solution- before going anywhere.
The exclusive hostel for canines in the capital city would take top-notch care of your furry family during your absence in your hometown. From fooding to daily grooming needs, the hostel provides all facilities to the dogs during the stay.
Opened in February, 2014, the unique facility is the brainchild of Brijesh Dash, a pet lover. Located at Niladri Vihar here, Tailwaggers provides home-away-from-home feeling to the canines in the absence of their masters. It not only provides fooding and daily grooming needs but also ensures behaviour modification of the canines.
“We are a three-member team to look after the dogs. Services like bathing, brushing, taking pets for a walk, dental hygiene are given to the pets at the hostel. Besides, the caretakers at the hostels also ensure socialisation and behaviour modification of the pets, if needed,” said Brijesh.
The accommodation fee for the canines varies from breed to breed. The number of dogs admitted to the hostel goes up during festivals like Dussehra and summer vacations. While on normal days, the number hovers between 15 and 20, it rises to 35-40 during holidays, he added.
Asked about the idea behind developing this adobe for pet dogs, Brijesh said, “First of all, I am a pet lover. I used to face many difficulties as a pet owner. While staying in Calcutta, I used to come to Bhubaneswar frequently for work and have sleepless nights for my pets. This is one of the main reasons I started this venture.”
“People can keep their pets with us for as many days as they want while going outstation. The owners need to fill up a form before admitting the canines in the hostel,” said Brijesh, who also runs Hands and Paws Foundation that provides animal assisted therapy to children with special needs (Autism, Down Syndrome, fine and gross motor skills) and old age.
