States should come forward for coal block auction: Union Mines secy

Bhubaneswar: Union Mines Secretary Balwinder Kumar has urged the states to voluntarily come forward to participate in the auction of coal blocks.

“Coal Blocks is a different ministry which is looked after by them. I look after other than coal. Now the blocks are being put on auction. Till now, we have been able to auction 21 coal blocks. Some of the blocks have also been successfully auctioned by the Odisha government. We are trying very hard and insisting the states to come forward with their blocks and put them on auction,” Kumar said while dedicating a book, “Awakening the Thinking Mind” written by him, at a function in the city here on Saturday.

In this book, Kumar, a 1981-batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, traces the reason why we think, behave and react the way we do and how fear still overrules the human psyche. While associating themselves with their own mind and experiences, the readers while going through this book can explore and investigate various aspects of nature and inner working of the mind, learn and experience the ways to quieten their mind especially under stressed and distressed moments. To address common problems like anger, worrying, over-thinking and negative thoughts in our day-to-day life, this book can surely act as a guiding tool. This book further explores the central theme of New Age Spirituality that advocates ‘we are the sole architect of our own life’, besides, touching a variety of issues that are central to empowering and awakening of our thinking mind.
