Six dead in three separate road accidents in Odisha

Khurda/Sambalpur/Bhadrak: Six persons were killed in at least three separate road accidents at different places in the state on Wednesday.

In Khurda, a father-son duo was killed after a bus hit their bike from behind at Siko Bazaar. Aggrieved over the incident, locals staged a protest and later ransacked the Siko police outpost. In a bid to control the mob, the police resorted to a lathicharge.

In Sambalpur, a Bolero vehicle killed two persons including a woman in a series of accidents near Jhankarpalli area of Maneswar on NH-55. Eyewitnesses said the vehicle’s driver at first hit a pedestrian killing him on the spot and later hit a bike while attempting to flee from the spot causing the death of the woman riding a pillion. The biker was critically injured in the accident.

In Bhadrak, two persons were killed after their car collided against a truck from behind near Charampa on NH-16. Locals rushed to the spot and rescued the victims.
