Second International Film Festival in city from Feb 23
Bhubaneswar: The second Golden Triangle International Film Festival (GTIFF) is going to be held from February 23 to 26 in the city here.
The four daylong event will showcase as many as 10 international films and 5 national films from across the country under categories of Feature films, Short films.
Besides two Odia films ‘Aloda’ and ‘Chandal’ are also scheduled to be presented during the event.
Speaking to a press meet, Golden Triangle Charitable Trust President Priyaranjan Sahu said his trust would try to make the event successful just like last year. “This year we had received 67 films from all across the globe but our jury had shortlisted 37 out of those. A screening will be held for the shortlisted movies from February 23 to 25,”
“We have provisions for awards under five different categories notably best actor, best actress, best director, best feature film and best short film. While the best film will be lauded with prize money of Rs 30,000 other categories will be prized Rs 10, 000,” Sahu said.
Sahu further added that they have named the event as Golden Triangle after Puri, Konark and Bhubaneswar which align to form the famous golden triangle. “Our aim is to promote the tourism and culture of Odisha in world stage,” he said.
