SCB medico harassment: Case registered against four
Cuttack: The Commissionerate police on Friday registered case against four students of SCB Medical College and Hospital here in connection with the harassment case of a girl student.
The case was registered at Mangalabag police station based on the complaint of the victim, said Cuttack DCP Sanjeev Arora.
“A special team has been formed to probe the matter,” he said. Arora informed that a four member team has been formed to investigate the case.
Investigating officers said a report has been sought from the College authorities in this regard and if needed they will be interrogated.
Later in the day, Police recorded the statement of the victim under Sec 161 at an unknown location.
“We have taken the statement of the victim and we are questioning the college authorities about the circumstances in which the incident took place. We will conduct our inquiry base on the information obtained from various sources,” said Arora.
On Thursday a 4th year MBBS girl student of the premier institution filed a police complaint alleging ragging and harassment by senior students. According to the complaint, she was abused with foul language while she was watching the annual movie show in a theatre.
As per the victim, the senior students also made lewd gestures towards her.
Moreover, the vicitim apologized to her senior and despite her apology she was harassed, the complainant said.
