Rourkela Hi-Tech Medical College debarred from admitting students for 2 years
Bhubaneswar: The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has debarred the Rourkela-based Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital from admitting students for two academic years – 2017-18 and 2018-19.
The two-year ban on the admissions is a blow to Hi-Tech Medical College, which was recently given conditional approval for the MBBS course for 2016-17 academic session.
The ministry, in a letter to the college, said, “We are directed to convey the decision of the Central government to debar your college for two academic years 2017-18 and 2018-19 and also to authorize Medical Council of India (MCI) to encash the bank guarantee of 2 crore.”
The letter also clearly mentions that any admission made against the above decision of the Central government would be treated as irregular and the college has to face stern action under the IMC Act.
Meanwhile, the Hi-Tech Group has decided to approach the Supreme Court against the decision.
