Rishi death: BJP, Cong to stage stir today

Bhubaneswar: The political situation over the sex scandal video and death of engineering student Asutosh Mohanty alias Rishi is getting murkier by the day.

While the BJP-sponsored Bhubaneswar bandh led to a scuffle between the BJD and the saffron party activists yesterday, the BIP would gherao the DGP office in Cuttack today protesting against the attack on its party supporters during the bandh. As part of the protest, over a hundred of party workers would take out a rally from the Netaji Birthplace to the Police Headquarters, where they would stage a demonstration. Later, the activists would submit a memorandum to the DGP in this regard.

On the other hand, the Congress would stage a demonstration and hunger stir in front of the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) office here today. Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Prasad Harichandan told this at a Press meet here on Wednesday.

The OPCC chief said the agitation would continue unless and until city Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena resigns from his office.
