Red carpet strewn with Odia culture, tradition awaiting PM Modi
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Unit of BJP is planning a welcome which quintessentially highlights Odia culture and tradition for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, scheduled to arrive here on April 15 to take part in the saffron party’s National Executive Meet.
Right from the moment Modi steps down at the Biju Patnaik International Airport, artists performing Odissi, Chhau, Gotipua, martial dance will greet the PM. The party’s Odisha unit has planned makeshift stages at Airport, Raj Bhawan Square and Jaydev Vihar where songs and dance forms will be presented by artists to usher in the PM.
“This is a chance for us as Odia to showcase our tradition, culture and heritage and convey our message through it,” said vice chairperson of the BJP Mahila Morcha, Pinki Pradhan.
The city is already abuzz with activity to welcome the top brass of BJP. From airport till the meeting venue, the skyline is increasingly being clouded by the posters of PM Modi and BJP National President Amit Shah. The party has made it a point to highlight its pro-poor schemes and programs.
“The BJP will try to spread the message among the people of Odisha on all the central government schemes through this National Executive Meet,” said BJP Legislature party leader, KV Singhdeo.
