Ramesh Jena’s name added to tender fixing case
Berhampur: Suspecting his hand in a tender fixing case, Aska police in Ganjam district has added the name of former Congress legislator of Sanakhemundi Ramesh Jena as one of the accused in the case.
The case was filed on February 24.
Though Jena’s name was not mentioned in the FIR as accused, the police, after coming across several allegations regarding the criminal empire of Jena, have added his name in the case.
Police suspect Jena’s hands in the tender fixing can’t be ruled out considering the former legislator’s criminal antecedents.
Meanwhile the police sought a fresh remand for Jena on Monday.
The Aska police has appealed before the Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate (SDJM), Aska for a fresh remand to initiate investigation into the various tender fixing allegations against Jena.
” We have sought to take the accused Ramesh Jena on remand to interrogate him about his various illegal tender fixing cases,” Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Aska said.
