One of three abductees killed by naxals

Bhawanipatna: One of the three villagers abducted by Maoists on March 15 from Karlapat in Thuamul Rampur of Kalahandi district was killed by the ultras while two others were released unhurt, said Kalahandi SP Brijesh Ray today.

The body of Banamali Naik was found today in front of his house while the deceased brother Sudarsan Naik and Hari Pradhani were set free unhurt, the SP added.

Elaborating further Ray stated, “Police force has been sent to the spot to probe under what circumstances Banamali was killed. Besides, the two villagers, who were released unhurt, will be questioned while following the standard operating procedure to verify the claims made by them.”

The Kalahandi SP noted a review meeting on the security personnel deployment will be undertaken soon as Karlapat comes under a sanctuary area.
