Odisha Police asks people to come forward in Virender Dixit case

Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate Police on Saturday assured help to persons in the State who want to register complaints against illegal activities of founder and head of Adhyatmik Vishwa Vidyalaya in New Delhi, Virender Dev Dixit.

Dixit found himself in the midst of a controversy after 40 girls were rescued from the Vidyalaya in New Delhi on December 22 following allegations of confining girls in the name of spiritual preaching.

The announcement from the Commissionerate Police came after it was found that Dixit used to visit an ashram in Bhubaneswar on a regular basis.

If anyone has information regarding any illegal activities of him inform us, said police.

According to sources, though the Mancheswar police had inspected the Bhubaneswar ashram on Friday, nothing objectionable was found. However, force has been deployed near the ashram as a precautionary measure.
