Odia girl’s Aadhar-linked dustbin wins award at Indian Science Congress
Bhubaneswar: Surprising one and all at the 105th Indian Science Congress, Odia girl Prisita Preetam, a class XI student of DAV Public School, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar bagged the Best Participant award for her innovative project on ‘Aadhar-linked Dustbin.’
The project by Prisita was highly appreciated by eminent scientists from the country as well as abroad at the highest science forum of India which was held in Imphal, Manipur.
Prisita used very common materials like integrated circuit, MOSFET (metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor), bipolar junction triode, capacitor, 9V battery to execute her project. It is expected to be a big support to the nationwide Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, opined eminent scientists and members of the jury during the science congress which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 16.
According to Prisita, the Aadhaar numbers of the local residents, after being attached in a special device, will add value points for dumping garbage in a specific dustbin.
The Indian Science Congress organizers and the school authorities congratulated Prisita for her phenomenal success and bringing laurels for the State.
