Cuttack: Even as the killing of  sheep in Niali region of the district continues to shroud in mystery  despite slew of government measures, three more fresh deaths were  reported from Jamugaradi village of Niali block last night.

Being irate over the government’s failure in tracing out the  killer, villagers took to the street and staged road blockade at  Kaliaghai square in the morning with the carcasses of their livestock  demanding compensation.

Commuters had a tough time as vehicular traffic on Niali-Phulnakhra  road came to a standstill for quite some time due to the blockade.

On the other hand, the special team from Similipal National Park  (SNP) has stepped up its strategies to trap the predator. The team is  equipped with tranquiliser guns and drone cameras to trace out the  killer.

The team carried out aerial survey by flying drones over some  villages and installed eight trap cameras at various strategic points in  a local forest, sources said.
