Missing Canadian national brought to Sukma, informs SP
Bhubaneswar/Malkangiri: The Canadian national, whose reported missing and possible abduction news had shaken the State once again after the March 2012 abduction of two Italian nationals by Maoists in Kandhamal district, has been brought to Sukma today.
The Sukma Superintendent of Police Abhishek Meena said John was located by police at Punampali village in the district of Chhattisgarh. He was held by some locals who inquired about his identity. It was just a case of communication gap and not abduction, Meena added.
Meanwhile, the Canadian tourist is safe at the Sukma SP office.
John had been on a bicycle expedition from Mumbai to Bastar. He went missing in the forest close to the inter-state border of Odisha and Chhattisgarh on March 28.
