Major robbery racket busted in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: In a major success for the Commissionerate Police, five most wanted dacoits were nabbed during a loot bid in the Capital City Friday night. However, one of the members managed to give a slip to the police and fled.
According to sources, the gang was planning a heist near Kalinga Nagar in Bhubaneswar last night. Getting information, police arrived at the location and nabbed five members of the gang while one of them escaped.
“A truck, a numberless car and a bike have been seized from their possession. This apart, 40 grams gold ornaments, 100 grams silver, four mobile phones and sharp weapons were also recovered,” said DCP Satyabrata Bhoi.
According to sources, more than 10 cases are pending at various police stations against each of the criminals.
Meanwhile, police further suspected the robbery gang of having many other members in its fold. “Investigation is on to nab the others,” added Bhoi.
