‘Least worried’ over BJP’s national executive meet, says Naveen

Bhubaneswar: Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik today said he is not at all worried over the national executive meet of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here with saffron expansion in the State being its key agenda.

“I’m not in the least bit worried,” said the BJD supremo in reply to a query.

Patnaik also said he would not be able to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi this time as his visit is ‘purely political’.

Patnaik had also earlier said the BJP national executive meet would have no impact on the State.

On the other hand, Congress spokesperson Ganeswar Behera said, “We accept BJP’s challenge. We will focus on capacity building and strengthening the party, and face the saffron party in the State.”

Earlier in the day, Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu said the party’s National Executive Meet would focus on ensuring that all the schemes and policies of Narendra Modi government reach the grassroot level in Odisha. “BJP is growing in Odisha and we are trying to come to power here in 2019,” Naidu added.
