Laxmidatta murder: Golak queries Ganjam SP on ‘fake CDR’, invites him to politics
Bhubaneswar: A day after his Call Detail Records (CDR) was published in media in connection with Chhatrapur BJD councillor Laxmidatta Pradhan’s murder, BJP leader Golak Mohapatra today came down on Ganjam SP by dubbing the call record documents fake and fabricated.
“Has he (Ganjam SP) provided the CDR to media? Who gave that fake paper? How did he acquire these?” Mohapatra asked at a press meet here. These fake papers have been distributed in a fraudulent manner, he claimed.
Inviting the SP to the field of politics, he sought a direct reply from him on these questions. “If anyone else replies on his behalf, he would be considered as the SP’s spokesperson. If the SP is interested in politics, he should remove the uniform first and jump to political ground,” the saffron leader said and demanded immediate release of CDR of all other accused arrested earlier in the case.
Demanding examination of call records of Thesa Kalia and Sanjay Panigrahi who were arrested in the case earlier, Mohapatra asked the police to bring other persons whose names were taken by Laxmi’s mother, under the purview of probe. He also questioned the cops’ authority to record the voice of key accused Krushna Nayak while he was under custody.
Meanwhile, Mohapatra’s party colleague and BJP State vice-president Sameer Mohanty suspected partiality in the probe process. “A team of BJP leaders will soon meet the Governor on the issue. A case will also be filed in Cyber Police Station. The DGP will be asked to maintain impartiality in the case and ensure probe in a transparent manner,” Mohanty said.
According to media reports, Mohapatra had been in touch with Krushna Nayak, the prime accused of the murder, on the very day of the brutal killing. The reports also alleged that he had talked to the accused multiple times over phone before and after the crime.
