Judicial panel on Shrimandir reforms receives affidavit from Puri king

Puri: Gajapati Maharaj Divyasingh Dev today filed affidavit before Justice BP Das headed judicial commission on Shri Jagannath temple reforms on the last day of submission.

The secretary of the commission received the affidavit from the erstwhile king at his palace in the pilgrim town. However, it is not known about the proposals made by the king in his affidavit.

Similarly, Puri Collector and Shri Jagannath Temple Administration also filed affidavits before the reform panel.

Earlier, Puri Sankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati also had sent his proposals regarding the reform of the 12th century shrine.

The king yesterday alleged that Puri is not being given due importance that it deserves from the State government. While addressing a special program in the town, Dev said that a lot of projects are being planned and announced, but nothing gets implemented. Lord Jagannath cannot vote, hence ignored, he had said.
