Jewellery worth lakhs seized from bank locker of Sarathi Baba’s aide

Kendrapara: A three-member team of the State Crime Branch today seized jewellery worth lakhs of Pradip Sahu, one of the closest associates of self-styled godman Sarathi Baba, from his locker in the Urban Cooperative Bank in Kendrapara town.

“The seized jewellery include two gold chains and two gold rings of about 50-60 grams,” said bank manager Manoranjan Mishra.

The Crime Branch officials opened the bank’s locker (number 71/3) of Sahu and seized the jewellery. Mishra said the Crime Branch, in a letter, had informed the former manager of this bank to open Sahu’s locker today.

During investigation, the Crime Branch found that Sarathi Baba transacted huge amounts of money through the bank account of Sahu, a native of Mahipala village in the district.
