IPL betting racket busted, two held
Berhampur: The BN Pur police today busted an IPL betting racket in the city and arrested two persons.
Acting on a tip-off that some persons are engaged in betting on the Indian Premiere League (IPL) T20 tournament, a team of BN Pur police led by IIC Ajay Kumar Mishra raided a house in Chandan Nagar in Lanjipalli area and arrested Khirod Kumar Gouda of Bidyutpur Colony and Ambika Prasad Padhi of Nilachal Nagar.
Police seized cash worth Rs 11,18,080, 10 mobile phones and a laptop from the house.
“Police is interrogating the two arrested persons of whom Khirod has admitted the involvement of another 10-15 persons in the betting. On the basis of his information, efforts are on to find out these persons,” the IIC said.
