Hundreds left awestruck at Air Show by IAF’s display
Khannagar (Cuttack): A breathtaking display by the Sarang, Surya Kiran AT and Akash Ganga paratrooper teams of the Indian Air Force at the vast stretch of Kathjodi river bed in Khannagar of Cuttack town today left many onlookers spellbound.
At first, six helicopters of the Sarang team showcased daredevil stunts due to which hundreds of onlookers gathered at the Kathjodi river bed to witness the Air Show were left awestruck.
Ten fighter jets of the Surya Kiran AT displayed their skills at the Air Show following the Sarang team’s show.
In the final lap, the paratroopers of Akash Ganga won the heart of the onlookers with the display of stunts at the air show organised by the State Sports and Youth Affairs department to mark the birth centenary of legendary leader and former chief Minister of Odisha Biju Patnaik.
As many as 100 pilots, 10 IAF officials of Surya Kiran Aerobatics, Saranga Aerobatics and Akash Ganga Aerobatics teams of the Indian Air Force participated in the daredevil show with six helicopters and ten fighter aircraft.
Odisha Governor SC Jamir, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court Vineet Saran and other dignitaries were among the hundreds of thrilled onlookers who witnessed the air show at the Kathjodi river bed in Khannagar.
Meanwhile, more than a hundred BJP activists were detained while showing black flags at Madhupatna Chhak ahead of the Chief Minister’s visit to Cuttack town to attend the air show at the Kathjodi river bed in Khannagar.
Notably, the air show was organised by the Sports and Youth Affairs department as a part of the year-long celebration from March 5, 2016, to make the birth centenary year of Biju Babu.
