Goondaism in party politics, I won’t bow down: Baijayant
Bhubaneswar: Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda on Monday lashed out against ‘goondaism’ in BJD through a couple of tweets after miscreants damaged foundation stone for a project ahead of its inauguration at Jatiparilo village in Mahanga block.
In a tweet, Panda wrote, “Again goondaism in party politics. I won’t bow down. Mahanga vandals are trying to stop me for project inauguration tomorrow. I will be there.”
According to reports, miscreants have damaged the foundation stone laid for an overhead water tank constructed through MPLAD funds in the village.
It is not for the first time that internal feud in BJD has come to the fore as earlier MP Baijayant Panda had faced opposition from supporters of former health minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak at a public meeting in Kendrapara last year.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was also present at the meeting in Mahakalpada when the incident was reported.
In his tweet, Panda further wrote that, “same happened in different part of my constituency last year. But I went, spoke against goondas and people punished them in the PRI elections.”
