Eggs, stones & bullets won’t stop me, I follow Biju Babu’s ideals: MP Jay Panda
The water tank project, constructed at a cost of Rs 28 lakh from the MPLAD fund, is the 18th such project that Jay Panda inaugurated in his constituency.
Kendrapara: MP Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda Saturday inaugurated an overhead water tank project at Gangapada village in Kendrapara district in presence of hundreds of supporters and local residents. The water tank project, constructed at a cost of Rs 28 lakh from the MPLAD fund, is the 18th such project that Panda inaugurated in his constituency.
With a storage capacity of one lakh litre, the overhead tank will cater to the needs of as many as 10,000 people in the area grappling with water crisis.
After the inauguration, the MP said, “Water tank projects are being set up for the people to address drinking water crisis. Because of this project, thousands will be benefitted immediately and there will no shortage of water for another 20-25 years.”
“This is the 18th water tank project inaugurated among the 57 sanctioned by me from the MPLAD fund to be built in the Kendrapara parliamentary constituency. But such welfare projects have been opposed in other parts of the constituency, in the past by some people,” Panda added.
“Following in the footsteps of Biju Babu, I am trying to set up industry in Kendrapara but a few people are conspiring against me and opposing my efforts towards development. Simplicity should not be taken as one’s weakness. I don’t fear egg, stone and bullets and will work for the development of my constituency and Odisha with the blessings of Lord Jagannath,” Panda stressed.
In response to Jay Panda’s conspiracy remark, BJD MP and spokesperson Pratap Deb said, “The MP’s views are his own. Nobody is undermining Baijayant Panda as he has been elected twice to both the houses of the Parliament. I don’t think any conspiracy is being hatched against him.”
Among others, local Sarpanch Laxmipriya Rout was present during the inauguration.
