Discretionary quota: Tara Dutta headed task force recommends plot cancellation

Bhubaneswar: The task force constituted by Odisha government to examine the plot and flats allotted under discretionary quota has reportedly exposed some influential persons allegedly involved in the irregularities, reliable sources told OTV.

A portion of the Tara Dutta headed task force report, which has not yet been made public, was acquired by OTV from a reliable source has recommended a transparent investigation and cancellation of all allotted plots and flats. The report has further suggested government to bring back the lands to government records within three months.

It was further mentioned in the report that around 2200 plots and flats from BDA, CDA, Housing board and GA department have been allotted to 200 influential people illegally violating the discretionary quota guidelines. Some ministers, MLAs, bureaucrats and some journalists have taken advantage of the irregularities, the report said.
