Corruption, financial irregularities charges brought against Markfed president

Bhubaneswar: Corruption and financial irregularities have been brought against Markfed president Bibhudutt Pradhan by the director and members of the management council of the agency.

As per allegations, Pradhan misused his power of office in fertilizer and paddy procurement leading to losses for Markfed which run into crores.

The members of the agency have also demanded the Pradhan’s resignation and threatened to launch stir and quit en masse if he is not removed from the post.

“We have informed the Chief Minister about the irregularities. Pradhan should be removed from his post. It is a very unfortunate episode and if Pradhan is not removed then we will quit en masse,” said Markfed Director, R Srinivas Rao.

Pradhan’s comments on the allegations could not be obtained.
