Congress youth, student wings hit roads 

Protesting the DQ issue involving Law Minister Pratap Jena and ITER fake placement row, the activists took out rallies in the city demanding state government to take action.

Bhubaneswar: The student and youth wings of the Congress today took to the streets here demanding action in many issues, including the ITER fake placement row.

Around a hundred activists of the youth Congress staged a demonstration at Master Canteen square here protesting discrepancies in the poll affidavit of Law Minister Pratap Jena during the last general elections regarding a plot owned by his wife in Cuttack CDA. The activists also burnt an effigy of the Minister demanding his ouster.

It may be mentioned here that the CDA has served a notice to his wife over allotment of land and plots under the discretionary quota (DQ).

The Law Minister was not available for comment.

In another incident, a scuffle ensued between the Chhatra Congress activists and police personnel when the former were marching towards the Naveen Niwas in a bike rally protesting discrepancies in CBSE 12th results and ITER fake placement row.

The activists questioned as to why the government has not taken any action in the ITER fake placement issue and vacant teachers’ posts not been filled up.
