Cong to protest demanding Das Burma’s resignation today
Bhubaneswar: The State unit of the Congress led by OPCC chief Prasad Harichandan will stage a protest today demanding the resignation of Minister Sanjay Das Burma over his alleged links with chit-fund company Artha Tatwa Group.
The Opposition party is demanding that Das Burma should step down on moral grounds after submitting documents of his Pajero vehicle, which was allegedly gifted to him by Artha Tatwa chief Pradip Sethi.
The Congress is also pointing fingers at Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik alleging that he is protecting Das Burma.
Notably, the CBI had served a notice to Das Burma to appear before it. However, the minister sent his advocate along with documents of his Pajero vehicle to the CBI office. The minister had clarified he was out of the Capital city due to which he was unable to depose before the CBI.
He had said the Pajero vehicle was bought with a loan and was not gifted by anyone as alleged by the Opposition. Later, he sold off the vehicle, he had clarified.
But refusing to buy the minister’s clarification, the Congress has continued to demand Das Burma’s scalp.
