CBSE introduces new rules for NEET 2017
Bhubaneswar: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced new rules for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) scheduled to be held on May 7 this year.
Talking to media persons here today, chairman of Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) Tushar Kumar Nath said the students can apply online on the newly created website cbseneet.nic.in.
“Apart from this, the students must have the Aadhaar card which is mandatory. CBSE has already made it compulsory for the students about the date, name and gender in the Aadhaar card during the JEE Mains examination. After completing these formalities, students can move forward for registration,” he added.
The other rule to be applied for this entrance test is the age limit. While the maximum age limit for the general category candidates to appear in the test is 25, for the reserve category students the age limit is 30.
To give more opportunity to the students to clear NEET, CBSE has said candidates would be given three chances.
Apart from this, considering the request of the Odisha government, CBSE has allowed the students from Odisha to appear in the test in Odia language. It has allowed the students to appear in 10 languages including English and Hindi. However, the CBSE has said if there is any doubt in the minds of the students about the meaning of any question put in other language, the question papers set in English language would be considered as final.
However, the academicians in Odisha have said the question papers set by the CBSE in Odia language would not benefit the students of Odisha as the medium of language in Plus Two Science syllabus is English.
The last date of application is on March 1.
The test would be conducted at 1500 centres in 80 cities across the country.
